An art installation I saw today in Dumbo, Brooklyn. It was an incredible experience to see it in person. The piece is titled Origin by United Visual Artists (United Kingdom). Origin represents the latest stage of UVA’s explorations of large-scale responsive LED sculpture.

Love this video by animator Christian Borstlap created to celebrate the launch of the men’s e-commerce site MR PORTER.  The brainchild of Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet, MR PORTER offers men a curated and well edited shopping experience that is on-trend and in good taste.

The “Clyde” by Puma is making a comeback thanks to Eddie Cruz of Undefeated in Los Angeles. Eddie and I worked together back in the 80’s in Soho. Definitely an exciting time in NYC. Eddie is the perfect mix of sneakerhead and a fashion guy with great taste.  Can’t wait to get my hands on a pair.

Repton Boxing Club, a short film by Alasdair McLellan.  A cool promotional film for the British underwear brand Sunspel.  The label, founded in 1860, is credited with introducing boxer shorts to England.

A quick film portrait of legendary French Vogue editor Franceline Prat.  She was a mentor, muse, teacher and great friend to everyone from Azzedine Alaia to Helmut Newton. The type of old school editor that had a great impact on fashion and photography during her time and whose influence continues to inspire!

Stopped by for a quick lunch at BG Restaurant the other day and was greeted by a blast from the past. Works Tony Viramontes, visionary 80’s fashion illustrator, peppered the 7th floor of Bergdorf Goodman. Tony was a Mexican American L.A. born artist whose vibrant style was seen in works for YSL, Versace, Valentino, Montana, Vogue and Per Lui, just to name a few. Outside of fashion he illustrated the cover of Janet Jackson’s album Control. I have always admired his work but have never seen it in person so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them at Bergdorf. His works are so difficult to find due to his passing at such a young age, he died at age 31.
